And what does this mean? Two tasks have been removed — how am I supposed to interpret this?

Do the "Mirage" races no longer count toward this progress? Everyone who has already completed 2,800 tasks did so over the course of many months by participating in these races; without those two daily tasks, reaching the 2,800 mark is practically impossible.

Is this a mistake? Or will it be like this from now on?

From what i know, daily/weekly quests reset and lower your count.
Since mirage is daily, it will reset and lower your count when it passes midnight (or whatever is the server reset time)
Same thing for faction leader heads quest

Yes, I’ve spoken with people who completed 2,800 tasks—hundreds of which were done specifically as part of these competitions—and now my progress is being rolled back. So, is it a case of "first come, first served"—if you managed to get everything done on time, then good for you?

Why is there such a difference? The addon displays one-time quests.
