I don't necessarily dispute the numbers but what I don't think they demonstrate is that a 50% reduction was the right balance decision for a PvP server.
The post nerf figures are based on applying the new XP modifiers to pre nerf data, which is a reasonable way to estimate the immediate impact. However, it doesn't account for how player behavior might change over time. Lower rewards can reduce the incentive to queue, and if participation falls, queue times could increase, making BG leveling less attractive. On a PvP server, battlegrounds depend on an active player pool, so player incentives matter just as much as raw XP rates.
The analysis also doesn't show the sample size, variance, or enough detail about the methodology to judge how representative the averages are. But more importantly, XP/hour only answers one question: which activity is allegedly the fastest for leveling. It doesn't address the broader concern raised throughout this thread, which is that rewarding BG participation helps keep queues active and gives the PvP realm its own identity. Showing that BGs are still the fastest leveling method doesn't, by itself, show that reducing their rewards by this amount is the best long term design choice for the health of the server.
Not to sound too much like a broken record, but I'd be very curious to see a poll on this, or at best, further discussion beyond forums. Judging by the amount of feedback this change has received, I genuinely think dismissing these concerns risks alienating a lot of people, myself included.
