Change blacksmithing specialization

[Skyrocwow]

Does anyone know if they ever added a way to change blacksmithing specialization? I read online u just talk to the armorsmith npc to drop it but he gives no options. I did the axesmithing quest but he doesn't have any options either. I went to the Soothsaying for Dummies book and it is not clickable so I think I am screwed after finding this from 3/2025 on twow forums

Can anyone confirm they have dropped blacksmithing and after re-leveling it they were able to change specialization in octo before I lose elemental sharping stones & all the rare armorsmith patterns for nothing.

If its not currently possible then maybe we can get the devs to implement it because leatherworking and engineering have the options to do so. Doesn't seem right that blacksmiths are only ones stuck for life with their choice and just an early over site with classic as it became changeable in TBC for 100g

Thank you & hopefully its already possible for us blacksmiths <3

Some great news for us blacksmiths. I made a post on the community discord and someone said that on 9/2025 there was a dwarf standing next to the Ironforge anvil that would allow you to drop your specialization. He was not aware of where the horde npc was but I checked all the cities and he is currently not in the game atm. Since we started on 1.17.2 before the 1.18, it looks like he didn't get added in the upgrade. I am going to open a bug report and hopefully the devs can get it implemented sooner then later for us <3
