i fixed the issue:
making sure i have priority login on the launcher, i didn't have this before
I also did a dns flush on cmd ran with admin perms (ipconfig /flushdns ----> netsh winsock reset)
although I am unsure if it was both of these together that worked or just the first step, try both ...
